Top 10 Bible Verses
While listening to the radio recently, the DJ read a list of the ten most
memorable movie lines in the history of the movies. I got to thinking and
wondering what people would think of as the ten most memorable statements in the
Bible.
Although every word of Scripture is inspired and important, these are the ten
statements that were most memorable and inspiring to us.
- "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John
3:16)
- "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1)
- "Then Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive
the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" (Acts 2:38)
- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians
4:13)
- "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not
believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16)
- "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves
this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve
the Lord" (Joshua 24:15)
- "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but
Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by
faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians
2:20)
- "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His
commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
- "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)
- "'Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?' Jesus said to
him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your
soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And
the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these
two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.'" (Matthew 22:36-40)
